The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them, that's the essence of inhumanity.

Adopt Today
Save a Life Tomorrow

Did you know…

For every one dog we bring in about five die waiting to come in.

All of our animals come from dumps and the side of highways.

We give out and dump 200-400lbs of donated food each week in an effort to keep animals alive that are waiting to come in!  Even this amount of food does not touch the problem.

Many of our dogs are severely malnourished when they first come in. Some have broken limbs. Some have gun shot wounds. Some have been burned. All have been neglected.

We promote and educate people on responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Now you know…so now go make a difference

Rescue for Life
is a small animal no-kill rescue group operated out of Spruce Grove, Alberta.  Cats and dogs are fostered by volunteers until their forever homes are found.  While in foster care the animals receive full vet care.  All animals adopted out by Rescue for Life are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.

As a rescue group we can not take in all animals in need but we do take pride in the fact that an animal will not be rejected based on where it comes from or the extent of it's injuries or illnesses. Every animal is invested into with as much money and love that he/she requires to hopefully bring it back to apoint at which it can be adopted out to his/her forever home.

We are a group that takes pride in the quality of care provided and the quality of adoption homes found. We are not a quantity driven organization.

All foster and adoption homes are screened by Rescue for Life and the best match for both the animal(s) and the family is chosen.

An adoption fee covers a portion of the money put into the animals.  Rescue for Life also has "Special Needs Cases" that require additional funds above and beyond a standard rescue.

Adopting is the first step to having an animal become part of your family.  To enable bonding we offer a lifelong commitment of working with the new addition and the family to ensure everyone adjusts.  With our dog adoptions we offer a basic obedience course to get families started off on the right path!

Rescue for Life is involved in educating the general public about responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying/neutering your pet(s).

Rescue for Life relies solely on volunteers and donations.

I want you to hear my story so you will help all my friends that are still alive and still have the chance I so much longed for.

The day before I was supposed to be taken in by this kind lady someone very mean destroyed all my hopes of having the great life this lady kept whispering in my ears...Read More Here

Adopt a Rescue!
Our dogs are some of the smartest dogs around.  That’s because the weakest die off and only the strongest and smartest survive – Natural Selection.  Also, since they are all mixed breeds, in the long run they will not have all the health problems associated with purebreds.

Our rescues, especially the adults, have for the most part been neglected and/or abused their whole lives.  They become some of the most loyal pets we could ask for once introduced to human kindness.

We adopt to all over Alberta and also have the ability to adopt to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia!

Foster Homes
Foster homes are urgently required so that more animals can be brought in. There is always an animal in need. Click here to find out more on fostering.

Quarantine Homes
Quarantine homes are needed for animals that need to be separated initially for medical care and recuperation. An animal can be quarantined anywhere from a few days to several weeks. If you have a spare bedroom, a spare garage, or other space for the initial quarantine please Click here.

Donate Today!
Your donations contribute to veterianarian services that all the animals require. The majority of our animals are not spayer/neutered - the cost of these surgeries is significant. In addition, many of our animals are what we consider "special cases" and these animals require additional vet care above and beyond a standard rescue.
